A while back I was searching for a Family web calendar application that I could install on my server and keep track of my schedule along with my wife and my daughters appointments. After a little searching and downloading all kinds of different solutions I came across Cozi.com What a easy to use package. You can install the application on your windows XP or Vista Machine. Or you can use the web interface on any type of computer. It works great with firefox or Internet Explorer.
Once you create your family login, you are greeted to a nicely laid out easy to navigate home screen. The calendar has some nice features instead of picking dates times and out of drop boxes you can simply enter “Movie Tomorrow at 7PM”. Which will update your calendar with the right day and time. This saves a ton of time. While entering you can also choose if it happens every day or every Monday or other combinations or reoccurring appointments. The calendar also will show every person in the household you have configured, and a all family calendar that shows everyones schedule, or Family events.
The next feature I liked is the Shopping list. You can create multiple lists if you shop at different places. We shop for groceries a different place than we buy other household supplies. So we have a Sams Club List and a Grocery list, along with a Others like specialty shops we go to. Then the neat part, you have some options on how to access your lists. You can print the list as long as you are at your computer or you can send the list to your cell phone. Or if you cant access your list you can call a toll free number and have the list read to you. My wife and I use the send to phone quite a bit. If I am on my way home and she wants me to stop for something she can just send me the list, or vice versa. Cozi has an outlook bar which is in Beta testing now to sync your calendar. It seems to work well and will sync up with my Blackjack then. What a great way to keep track of our hectic lives these days. Works well with Pets too. We have all our dogs vet appointments and play dates included in the calendar. Shown below are screen shots of the Cozi Central Application and a tour of different features. The web interface is also very similar.
The Good:
Easy to use and setup
Easy enough children can use it.
Remote Access through internet.
Send to Phone Option for Appointments or Shopping Lists
Cool Screen saver with Collage of pictures
The Bad:
The only thing I would really like to see is reminders sent to my mobile phone for Appointments.

I’ll have to check this out. Right now we use a big wipe board in my household to track all the family’s activities. It never fails someone accidentally brushed up against it and smears the info.
